After a commendable 27 years as the president and CEO of Sixteenth Street Community Health Center, Dr. John Bartkowski will be retiring on March 31st, 2017, and passing the business to the capable hands of Dr. Julie Schuller.

Schuller has been a vital part of 16th Street for 20 years, and was evidently a frontrunner as a prospective replacement. Beginning as a clinical provider, she worked her way up to the position of executive vice president, before ultimately being appointed by the SSCHC Board of Directors to succeed Bartkowski.

Rich Kurchen, Senior Reporter for the Milwaukee Business Journal, recently summarized Schuller’s promotion at Sixteenth Street. Interestingly enough, this wasn’t the first time Kurchen wrote a piece about Dr. Schuller. In 2014, Schuller was awarded the honor of being one of the Milwaukee Business Journal’s Women of Influence for her crucial role in Sixteenth Street’s success.
