Dr. Sponagle earned his BS in biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his MD from the University of South Florida. He completed residency in psychiatry at Northwestern University, where he then followed up with his fellowship in consultation liaison psychiatry. He is board certified in psychiatry and an assistant professor of psychiatry at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He boasts 20 years of experience as a psychiatrist and focuses on severe and chronic mental illness. Dr. Sponagle believes that every patient is unique and so are their mental health issues – therefore, treatment should be uniquely tailored to each patient. He spends his time outdoors and enjoys hiking, climbing, and kayaking.
