Nevada Myers-Wesley boasts nearly ten years of experience working as a Licensed Professional Counselor. After graduation from Marquette University with her Masters in Counseling, she worked at various non-profit agencies providing mental health therapy for teens, adults, couples, and families. She has extensive experience working with immigrant populations and trauma. She has recently completed further coursework in marriage and family therapy at Aurora’s Family Therapy Training institute.
Her approach is very person-centered and systemic (relational). She always works closely with her clients to ensure that the approach she’s using with them is the best fit and individualized. The theoretical orientations that she most often incorporates into her work are narrative, solution-focused brief therapy, and CBT. She also includes interventions (such as mindfulness and relaxation) that target the physical symptoms that often accompany emotional health problems.
She’s a mom of five and enjoys spending time with her children. She loves being silly and playing, learning, and creating.
