Melissa Waldo, LCSW
Vice President of Behavioral Health
Melissa Waldo has her Master’s degree in social work from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has been at Sixteenth Street for 15+ years practicing as a licensed clinical social worker.
As the Vice President of Behavioral Health – Clinical, she offers bilingual (English and Spanish) psychotherapy to adolescents and adults, specializing in trauma treatment (EMDR). She also has significant training and experience working with the LGBTQ population and the adolescent population.
She’s also the founder of SEEDS, an emotional treatment group for adolescent females that has offered a safe and therapeutic space for hundreds of youth managing their anxiety, depression, and stress-related mental health needs over the past ten years.
It has been her greatest honor and privilege to be the safekeeper of so many people’s pain and hardship and to be trusted with the work to overcome and find relief and solace. In her own time, she finds her own peace through gardening, yoga, travel, and enjoying the many Milwaukee community events.
