Brett Lipshutz, APSW
Qualified Treatment Trainee
Brett Lipshutz earned a BA and MA in French from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He then earned an MSW from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Helen Bader School of Social Work. He also boasts an APSW license from the state of Wisconsin.
He has one year of experience in therapy in clinicals working with SUD, family, couples, and individuals. He believes that the client is the most important driver in progressing the therapy space. He believes that who people really are influences their way of seeing the world and they can always find strength in this to help them become the people they want to become. He describes himself and his practice with three concepts — empathetic, culturally sensitive and responsive, and non-judgment. Clients should feel like they can talk about anything with him and that he will listen and respect them and their life experiences. He uses trauma-informed CBT, mindfulness, and data-driven approaches that show the client and himself how much progress is being made. In addition, he speaks to the client in the language they experience, as he believes that is paramount for success.
He is interested in how therapy and physical symptoms like IBS interacts. In his spare time, he’s a Baroque and Irish flute player.
