Anna Guerrero is a bilingual, licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience in behavioral health. She currently serves as the Director of Behavioral Health Operations and Psychiatric Services Lead at Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers, a role she has held since 2022. Anna initially joined Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers in 2017 as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, where she has continued to provide compassionate and comprehensive psychiatric care.

Anna Guerrero earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing, with a minor in Psychology, from Alverno College in 2009. She went on to receive her Master of Science in Nursing from Alverno College in 2017, graduating with honors. Following her graduate studies, Anna served as an adjunct instructor and clinical site visitor at the college until May 2023. Early in her nursing career, she worked in the Inpatient Adult Behavioral Health and Detox Unit at Aurora Saint Luke’s South Shore, where she also served as nurse educator.

Anna is board certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and in Perinatal Mental Health. In recognition of her exceptional contributions to nursing, she was honored with the “DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses” by the DAISY Foundation in 2016. She also received the “Outstanding Service Provider Award” from Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers in 2021.

Anna is an active member of the National Hispanic Nurses Association, serves on the parent council for Camp One Step (an organization providing camp opportunities for children with cancer), and participates in various childhood cancer awareness initiatives.

Her treatment philosophy emphasizes providing a non-judgmental, empathetic space for patients, focusing on the mind, body, and soul. She is dedicated to collaborating with her patients to explore the best treatment options, considering factors such as sleep, nutrition, and chronic health conditions. Anna is committed to ensuring that all individuals feel welcome and supported in their care.

Anna is a proud Italian who enjoys connecting with individuals from all backgrounds. She speaks Spanish daily, building meaningful relationships with the community she serves. As a passionate advocate for mental health, she actively participates in community events to raise awareness and support for mental health initiatives.

Outside of work, she cherishes time with her family and two dogs, Ralphie and Max. She enjoys experiencing diverse cultures through travel, festivals, cooking, and trying new restaurants. For self-care, Anna finds joy in kickboxing, Zumba, and surrounding herself with laughter and the company of loved ones.
