Mari Maldonado, MBA
Vice President of Advancement
Mari Maldonado, MBA is the Vice President of Advancement at Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers oversees the Communications, Marketing, Community Engagement, Grants, and Fund Development functions for the organization. With nearly 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Mari has worked with local and global non-profit organizations addressing issues ranging from supporting the unhoused to promoting education.
Before joining Sixteenth Street, Mari, led the Strategy and Operations for Cream City Labs, an innovation hub at Northwestern Mutual. There, she created co-working spaces for community startups and implemented programing such as hackathons and a speaker series focused on innovation. Mari also developed the communication strategy for Women in Technology and supported the Women’s Initiative Strategic Ecosystem (WISE), initiatives designed to inspire and engage women across the company.
Mari is deeply committed to community service and leads Milwaukee’s longest-running VITA Tax Program, which provides free federal and state tax preparation services to individuals and families in Southeastern Wisconsin. Her leadership has helped bridge financial gaps and provide greater financial stability for community members.
As an advocate for education, Mari has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Communication, Marketing, Public Relation, and Advertising at Mount Mary University and Carroll University. She is passionate about empowering future leaders with the knowledge and skills they need to excel in their careers.
Mari holds a Master Business Administration (MBA), and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, and Professional Communication from Mount Mary University.
With her innovative spirit and passion to service, Mari hopes to advance Sixteenth Streets mission, enhance brand visibility, and position the organization for continued growth.
