Ann Marie Amaya grew up in the Milwaukee area, spending her entire life enveloped in the rich culture of this vibrant city.

She graduated high school from Milwaukee High School of the Arts. Following high school, she studied nursing at Marquette University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, readying her to begin her journey as a healthcare professional.

After graduation from college, she took a job as a labor and delivery nurse at St. Francis hospital on Milwaukee’s south side. There, she developed a deep understanding of the importance of healthcare access and a passion for advocating women’s health issues — a mission that’d shape her educational and professional path.

While working as a labor and delivery nurse, she decided to go back to school and pursue a degree in nurse-midwifery, graduating from Marquette University in 2004. Since 2004, she has bene practicing as a certified nurse-midwife in the Milwaukee area.

Her professional career has blossomed in the very community she has always called home. She has established a reputation as a compassionate, knowledgeable, and empowering advocate for women, providing holistic care to expectant mothers throughout their pregnancies and beyond.

Her approach focuses on patient-centered care combined with clinical expertise and personal connection. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.

She has two sons and enjoys camping and golfing with her family in her free time.
