Gloria Martinez, LPC-IT

Qualified Treatment Trainee

Locations: Layton
Language: English, Spanish

Gloria Martinez attended Alverno College, where she received her BA in art therapy. She then attended Mount Mary University where she received her MS in art therapy with an emphasis in counseling. She has a certification in Self-Regulation Interventions for Children and Adolescents.

She has previously worked in the day treatment program for children and adolescents as a behavior specialist. Prior to that, she worked with patients diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, coordinating and running programming for said patients.

She believes that therapy is a process of healing and self-discovery for the whole person — mind body, and sprit. She believes it brings out the very best of people and parts that don’t like to be shown to others, allowing for rediscovery and reconnection with themselves and others. She recognizes that while the journey may not always be the easiest, that with compassion, kindness, and empathy, growth and development can be facilitated so individuals can reach their goals and full potential.

Outside of medicine, she tries to play as much soccer as she can. She finds it as a good way to release any tension and to get loose. She also likes to paint and draw, mostly realism, either from still life or from reference images. When she’s not doing any of that, you can catch her watching movies or true crime documentaries.
