Vanessa Villafuerte, LPC
Psychotherapist, Schools Coordinator
Vanessa Villafuerte earned her undergraduate at Mount Mary University with a BA in Psychology with a minor in Sociology and Anthropology. She also attended Mount Mary for graduate school where she earned a degree in Professional Counseling.
She began her journey at Sixteenth Street as a student in 2018. Upon graduating in 2019, she joined the team as an employe, focusing primarily on children and adolescents. Over the past three years, she has served as a clinician in the school-based therapy services and is currently the Behavioral Health School Coordinator.
She takes a holistic treatment approach in counseling and psychotherapy, emphasizing the importance of treating the whole person rather than just addressing symptoms. She considers the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit, striving for balance and wellness in all aspects of life. Believing that the therapeutic relationship is a partnership, she works collaboratively with her clients, valuing their input and active participation in the treatment process. She’s mindful and respectful of cultural, social, and family dynamics that influence the behavior and mental health of children and adolescents.
Outside of her professional work, Vanessa enjoys hiking, running, and taking walks. She loves to travel and values time spent with her family.
