Sharais Alvarado has almost five years of experience working as a bilingual (English and Spanish) psychotherapist. She received her Master’s in Community Psychology from Alverno College. She currently works with individuals 12 years-old and up. She has the honor of serving as the behavioral site lead at our Parkway location; helping support her peers and department needs. She has additional training in depression, anxiety, trauma, and exposure prevention therapy.
In a safe and warm environment, she offers the opportunity for her clients to learn the role of trauma and cultural differences to help see their connection with mental health. She strives to center her approach on the individual and helping them recognize and identify the connections between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
She’s passionate and enjoys working with adolescents and young adults; helping them navigate their passions, identity, process generational trauma, and emotional distress. She also enjoys helping the elder population with their emotional difficulties like aging and grief.
She’s also a big movie and art geek. She enjoys traveling with her husband, their family, friends, and trying new foods. She also loves to read and elephants are her favorite animal.
