Elizabeth Theppanya is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at Sixteenth Street. She earned Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Master of Science in Nursing at Alverno College. She is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and a Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber.

She has 13+ years of psychiatric nursing in different settings including inpatient in hospitals, case management for HMO companies, and now prescribing in a community clinic.

She grew up in a primarily Spanish-speaking household in the south side of Milwaukee with parents from Mexico. She often attended their medical appointments to help them communicate and to be sure they fully understood their care. It is her philosophy as a psychiatric nurse practitioner to provide culturally sensitive, compassionate, individualized care to help people reach their mental health goals. It is more than just prescribing medications, but to provide education, support, and empowerment to others to become the best versions of themselves.

In her free time, she enjoys to listen and dance to all types of Latin music. She is bilingual and speaks Spanish and English. She loves most animals and has two cats. Her favorite color is purple and she likes to travel so she can explore and learn more about other people’s cultures.
