Dr. De La Cruz earned his undergrad at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He then went to the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor for medical school, followed by a residency in Pediatrics at Children’s Wisconsin.

He has worked at Sixteenth Street for 17 years. He was the Clinial Director for the Lead Outreach Program from 2012-2022 and has been the Pediatrics Department Director for the last two years (April 2022-present).

He practices in patient-centered care and always looks to improving the patient’s health by taking a holistic view (treating the medical, social, and psychological aspects of a child). He always involves the family in the treatment and care of a patient, believing that the entirety of the family is important in educating all involved.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, gardening, and playing and watching sports.
