Diego Villarreal has received many degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, receiving a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology-Exercise Movement Science in 2017 and a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2021. As a new graduate, he started working with a neurological population in outpatient, acute, and inpatient rehab settings. He then transitioned into working with a mix of an orthopedic and nuerological population, which is very similar to what he does at Sixteenth Street.

His treatment philosophy with patients is to make a one-on-one connection to treat the entire person and not just an injured joint or muscle. He focuses on the functional aspects of a patient’s life that they want to get back to, whether that’s being able to clean the house or competing in sports. He empowers them to take control of their treatment through exercise and mobility along with providing them the education needed to treat themselves in the future.

Outside of work, he enjoys being around family and loved ones, enjoying good food, playing video or board games, playing soccer, playing disc golf, and working out.
