Our 9 Certified Nurse Midwives and 9 Family Practice Physicians assist women during childbirth, provide prenatal care for pregnant women, birth education for women and their partners, and care for mothers and newborn babies after the birth. We delivered over 700 babies in the last year with only 13% of the deliveries done by Cesarean. Our midwives are nationally recognized by American College of Nurse-Midwives for their excellent outcomes
What is a Midwife?
According to the American College of Nurse-Midwives, “midwifery as practiced by certified nurse-midwives (CNMs®) and certified midwives (CMs®) encompasses a full range of primary health care services for women from adolescence beyond menopause. These services include primary care, gynecologic and family planning services, preconception care, care during pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period, care of the normal newborn during the first 28 days of life, and treatment of male partners for sexually transmitted infections”. For more information on Midwifery visit the American College of Nurse-Midwives website.
