Dr. Waters is very active in community health initiatives and helps run SSCHC’s Annual Southside Bicycle Day, where hundreds of attendees learn about the benefits of bicycling and other healthy lifestyle activities.

“I am so pleased Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin is recognizing Dr. Waters’ outstanding work at Sixteenth Street and in the surrounding community,” said Emilia Arana, MD, head of the Pediatric Department at SSCHC. “This award is a wonderful and meaningful honor. Dr. Waters brings so much passion and caring to his work—his efforts and influence help assure best quality of care for our patients. It is a great honor to work with him; he is a role model for all of us.”

Dr. Waters received his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a member of the Fellow American Academy of Pediatrics and has professional interests in asthma management, vaccines and advocacy. As a bilingual physician, Dr. Waters provides quality, family-based care free from linguistic and cultural barriers.

“I’m honored to receive this award,” said Dr. Waters. “It is a privilege to be the first of what I’m sure will be a long list of dedicated community physicians to be recognized.”

On Friday, April 8, Children’s held an event honoring the members of its medical staff who have served for over 25 years, its Campus Physician of the Year, and Dr. Waters, its Community Physician of the Year.

CONGRATULATIONS Dr. Waters – we couldn’t be more proud, or inspired.
