Milwaukee – (November 21, 2019) – Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers announced today the opening of a new clinic delivering behavioral health services in collaboration with the Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division (BHD). With a focus on prevention, early intervention, and same-day access, the clinic will offer community-based behavioral health and substance use services across the care continuum, increasing access for families on the south side of Milwaukee. This clinic is made possible by a donation of $3.7 million from the Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin health network.

In celebration of its 50th anniversary, Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers today announced the unveiling of a mural on an exterior wall of its Chavez Clinic. Sixteenth Street will hold a press conference with special remarks from Health Commissioner Jeanette Kowalik, Representative JoCasta Zamarripa and mural artist, Mauricio Ramirez, on Thursday, May 9 at 11am at 1032 S. Cesar E. Chavez Drive.
The Haggerty Museum of Art at Marquette University and Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers’ Department of Environmental Health (Sixteenth Street), in partnership with the KK River Neighbors In Action (KKRNIA), are pleased to announce the installation of two public art projects along a newly created section of the Kinnickinnic River Trail.
